Anyone heard of a Baco 9MM pistol?
 

A buddy of mine just called me and said that he was offered a trade on a car he owned. The guy wanted to trade him a Baco (Blaco?) 9mm pistol. He said that the pistol as a police/military model and was 7-8 years old.

I've done some searching to find that Winchester does business under the Baco name, but I'm not familiar with their handgun offerings. Has anyone ever heard of this mfgr, and is it a reputable firearm?

I believe (but can't be positive without seeing it):

BACO stands for Browning Arms COmpany. It is probably a Browning Hi-Power.

Or on the other end of the quality spectrum it could be a POS Bryco. These should be avoided at all cost.

Would a Jennings 9mm be called a "police/military" firearm? A Browning Hi-Power may be.
